Emma | Rosemount High School Senior Pictures

What a joy it was to work with Emma and her family! Emma is a Class of 2018 Senior from Rosemount High School. She and her twin sister Lilly both did back-to-back Luxe sessions this summer. We captured some gorgeous light (my favorite!) and I am in love with the variety of shots: casual-cool in her leather bomber jacket, casual beauty in a field of tall grass, etc. Check-out Emma’s tips and advice for getting ready for senior pictures at the end of this post. Thanks so much, Emma! Best of luck to you!

ALL ABOUT EMMA!

Q: What high school do you attend?

A: Rosemount High School

Q: Do you have college plans? If so, what are they?

A: I am looking at schools in the Northeast, primarily in the Boston area, and I want to study biochemistry or pre med

Q: What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

A: I am a student manager for the Dakota Hawks adapted sports teams in the district, and I am also involved in percussion ensemble, NHS, student council, and teaching confirmation at my church

Q: How was your senior portrait experience?

A: It was amazing! I have never had a photo shoot before, but Nealy made it a comfortable and exciting experience

Q: What sort of style were you going for in your senior pictures? Was this accomplished?

A: I was going for a dressy casual look, something a bit more fancy than what I wear on a daily basis

Q: Why did you choose Photography by Nealy for your senior portraits?

A: I had some friends that had their pictures done by Nealy, and I loved how they turned out!

Q: What advice would you give someone about planning outfits for their senior pictures?

A: I found it easier to build outfits when I started by looking at the clothes in my closet and picking out some base pieces to wear from it. I then would build the outfit around the piece, buying some new pieces and using some from my closet.

Q: Do you have any shopping advice? Please share where you purchased the main pieces you wore in your pictures.

A: I had most of my pieces already, but I bought the rest from Free People and Anthropologie.

Q: What ended up being your favorite outfit, and why?

A: My favorite outfit was my white top and floral pants because I loved how the outfit moved with the wind during the shoot. Also, the floral pants were really fun to wear because I like pieces that are a bit outside the box!

Q: Any tips for how to prepare for senior pictures?

A: I used white strips two days beforehand and I used my favorite face mask three days before the photo shoot. To avoid stress, I would also recommend having all your outfits picked out at least a week before.

Q: Is there anything you would do differently, if you could do it all again?

A: I would not stress out as much beforehand! I was so worried about my hair, makeup, and outfits looking perfect that I did not enjoy the process as much as I could have.

Q: What was your favorite part of working with Nealy?

A: I loved how Nealy talked to me throughout the photoshoot because it made the atmosphere more comfortable for me!
