Michaela | Highland Park Senior High School Senior Pictures

I’m still just dying over these amazing images from Michael’s senior session this summer! Michaela is a senior this year (Class of 2018) at Highland Park Senior High School. We had a hot and sunny summer day, and I wouldn’t ask for anything more! Such a natural beauty – Michaela totally rocked all of the outfits she brought! The hat (part of my senior trunk of accessories) was the perfect final touch to her white dress! See below for tips form Michaela- and where she bought most of her outfits!

EMMA SAYS…
Q: What high school do you attend?
A: Highland Park Senior High SchoolQ: Do you have college plans? If so, what are they?
A: Currently undecided on a college- likely the University of Minnesota or University of Wisconsin Madison
Q: What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
A: Volleyball (school and club), National Honors Society, Model UN, FFA, Youth Alive, etc.Q: How was your senior portrait experience?
A: I loved it! It was so fun and Nealy was amazing to work with. My pictures turned out great and were worth the effort spent preparing/taking them.

Q: What sort of style were you going for in your senior pictures? Was this accomplished?
A: I wanted a casual but chic style and I believe I accomplished it. There was a wide variety in my pictures which was nice because I got to do something different in each one.

Q: Why did you choose Photography by Nealy for your senior portraits?
A: I saw other friends who also got their pictures done by Nealy and I thought they turned out really nice so I wanted to do it as well. She’s so sweet and makes the effort to form a personal connection with everyone.Q: What advice would you give someone about planning outfits for their senior pictures?
A: Try to choose outfits of a wide variety. (ex. one casual outfit with jeans and a shirt and then one nicer outfit in a dress.) It gives the pictures more depth and it’s also fun to switch it up a bit. Also if you would like, try wearing neutrals to insure it goes well with the scenery behind you.
Q: Do you have any shopping advice? Please share where you purchased the main pieces you wore in your pictures.
A: Personally I love Altar’d State so a lot of my clothing/jewelry was from there, but the rest were from random stores or were clothing I already owned. I would recommend to start shopping in advance because you don’t want to have to cram right before your shoot and then end up with outfits you don’t love.Q: What ended up being your favorite outfit, and why?
A: My favorite was a white dress I wore because I thought it looked really pretty blowing in the wind along with how it contrasted with the scenery behind me.

Q: Any tips for how to prepare for senior pictures?
A: Plan in advance for your outfits, makeup, etc. because you don’t want to have to cram the day before or morning of your pictures. Also make sure to hydrate and take care of your body the weeks before your pictures to make sure you look your best!

Q: Is there anything you would do differently, if you could do it all again?
A: I would’ve changed my hair up a bit between each outfit just to make it more versatile.

Q: What was your favorite part of working with Nealy?
A: She’s so sweet and talented, and had good suggestions on how to make each picture better.
