Niki is a Class of 2018 Senior at Burnsville High School. I not only took her senior pictures, but she was a senior model for me as well! It has been such a blessing to work with this sweet (and gorgeous!) girl. Not only is she beautiful, but she’s an amazingly talent dancer!
Q: What high school do you attend?
A: Burnsville High School
Q: Do you have college plans? If so, what are they?
A: Yes attending Mankato State University and I will be going somewhere in the Business field.
Q: What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
A: I am on my high school dance team, the Burnsville Blazettes and I am a Captain! I love what I do and I am so happy I joined this team. This is my fourth year on this amazing team. Also I want to continue dancing after high school and hopefully on a college dance team!!!
Also I am in DECA and I love it!
Q: How was your senior portrait experience?
A: My senior portrait experience was a blast, I loved working with Nealy and I’m so happy I did it with her, she is so talented. She gracefully captured all the wonderful pictures from my senior session and I was very comfortable around her and in front of the camera!
Q: What sort of style were you going for in your senior pictures? Was this accomplished?
A: The style that I was going for my senior pictures was just my personality with my outfit and for the pictures that turned out amazing was I just wanted something girly and fun!
Q: Why did you choose Photography by Nealy for your senior portraits?
A: My friend was a spokesmodel for Nealy last year and she referred me to her and then I had the opportunity to become Nealys’ spokesmodel this year! Also I have seen her social media and website before and I thought they were so good and the senior pictures section was so pretty so I wanted her to be my photographer because her work was so amazing and she is so talented.
Q: What advice would you give someone about planning outfits for their senior pictures?
A: The advise that I would give to someone who is planning outfits for their senior pictures are find pieces that you really like and try to put them together or when you are at the mall or at your favorite stores look at the mannequins that are in the store and try to get some inspirational outfit ideas from them. Also another thing that I had done when I was choosing my outfits was just look online like Pinterest at other Senior Pictures and then some outfit ideas as well.
Q: Do you have any shopping advice? Please share where you purchased the main pieces you wore in your pictures.
A: The main pieces of clothing that were in my pictures that I had purchased were mostly from francesca’s and it was just a local boutique that I usually shop at. The white skirt that was in a few of my pictures was from American Eagle, I love that skirt!!!
Q: What ended up being your favorite outfit, and why?
A: My favorite outfit has to be the the red halter tank and the white skirt just because the red was a nice pop of color and I love the white skirt, I was one of my favorite piece of clothing, It was perfect or the warmer weather!
But my other favorite was the white flowy dress that i took by the willow tree, those pictures turned out amazing!!!
Q: Any tips for how to prepare for senior pictures?
A: Drink plenty of water and stay hydrate I promise you your skin with thank you later! Definitely treat yourself, have a little spa day like get your nails and toenails prep and done, have some kind of face mask of your choice. Also make sure you lay your outfits out to make sure its just how you want it for the day of your shoot.
Q: Is there anything you would do differently, if you could do it all again?
A: Anything that I would do differently is maybe doing my hair and makeup differently because by the time I had gotten to the location my hair had loosen some of its curls but maybe I could have add a small braid or done a different hair style for the different outfits I had. For the makeup when I had seen the pictures I looked very pale so maybe I could have added some color to my face like some more blush and just keep the eyes nice and neutral.
Q: What was your favorite part of working with Nealy?
A: My favorite part of working with Nealy is she is very creative and I liked the different areas we had gone for the pictures.

I love to shop at Lulu Lemon that is always the first store I go into when I go to the mall. Also I love American Eagle, half of my closet is from there. I also like francesca’s boutique they have a ton of cute clothes and accessories!
Senior year has been so much fun but also pretty stressful!
Someday I want to be a Business Woman and travel around the world!
