The Kitchen Sink Workshop

One of my goals these past few years is to get even better at my trade. I have been invested quite significantly in senior photography, because that is what I LOVE to do!

Last December (2016), I had the amazing opportunity to attend a small workshop called the Kitchen Sink Workshop put on by none other than Amanda Holloway in Houston, TX. If you are not familiar with her name, you have probably somewhere stumbled upon her senior pictures on Pinterest or other social media platform. Amanda is pretty well known in the senior photography industry, and I was so excited to have the chance to learn from her personally!

The full-weekend workshop took place at her glamorous studio outside of Houston, Texas. It was fun to see and get some ideas, because we were in the process of building a new home (and home-based studio/office area) at the time.

The weekend was full of every aspect of learning: from marketing to posing, social media, fashion consultations, editing, and IPS. Amanda was great in the fact that she seemed to hold nothing back – she was an open book, and answered any questions that we had!

The one drawback was the weather- it rained, actually it poured, for most of the weekend. About half of our model shoots were canceled, and the ones we did have were pretty cold (i.e., they’re no Minnesota girls, ha ha!). Here are a few favorite shots of the three models that we did shoot.

I snapped a few quick cell-phone pictures from behind the scenes, and I apologize for the horrible quality!

And here are some finished images I took of the three models. Love the glamorous outfits for something different!

If you are thinking about attending the KSW, feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
